with Tim Whitehead, University of Maine Head Coach,
2002 Coach of the Year

In 15 Competitive Shooting Games & Drills, Whitehead incorporates shooting into chaotic, game-like situations through a series of intense (and fun) competitive games. Specific shooting skills included in these games are: wraps and stuffs, corner shots, quick release shots, wrist shots, slap shots and single touch shots. Whitehead builds game-like situations into these drills including: 1-on-1, 2-on-1, 3-on-1, breakaways, wide angles, rebounds, deflections and clearing the front of the net. The games also include other critical skill-related areas: player attentiveness, quick decision making, speed, transition, defense, goalie play, forward play, passing, communication, playing rebounds and deaks. While Whitehead explains the structure, purpose, and benefits to be derived from each of the games, he adds in marker board diagrams and on-ice demonstrations for added emphasis and instruction.
